Who’s Up Next? NIO Still a Major Player

NIO (NYSE: NIO), a premium EV automaker from China is still on track to release their ET7 smart mid-sized EV this year after a rough few months in the stock market. NIO is a major player in the future of EVs with its holistic approach to EV ownership. The company that debuted its first EV sports coupe in 2014 with the EP9 now manufactures EVs as well as offering convenient charging solutions like Power Home, Power Swap- a battery swapping service, and Polar Express 24-hour on-demand pick-up/ drop-off charging service.

NIO has showrooms in China, a design center in Munich, advanced R&D in Oxford, and a North American headquarters in San Jose, CA. The newest showroom is in Oslo, Norway.

NIO, which means blue sky coming, offers stylish sleek EVs with a top-of-the-line electric powertrain in its EP9 Coupe, ES6, and ES8 SUVs. Recently NIO unveiled their ET5 sedan in Suzhou China in what was deemed “NIO Day.”

Now, after forging deals with Chinese investors last year and recently announcing a deal with Cerence, Inc. [NASDAQ: CRNC] to deploy their conversational AI in the upcoming ES8 full-sized sedan, NIO is poised to bounce back in 2022. After a market slump in 2021 and after Tesla, U.S. EV automaker announced there would be no new releases in 2022, NIO has ambition to assemble and deliver 3 new EVs this year to gain a bigger market share.

NIO has plans to release the ET7 luxury sedan with a 1000 km range with its sleek ET5 already on the streets. The ET7, along with a lustrous design comes standard with over 100 features for comfort, safety and smart technologies. The ET5 boasts a stylish relaxing cabin with PanoCinema and immersive digital cockpit. And the ET5’s CLTC range reaches over 550 km with the 75 kWh Standard Range Battery, over 700 km with the 100 kWh Long Range Battery, and over 1,000 km with the 150 kWh Ultralong Range Battery.

There is a third unnamed model is also set for release some time this year.
