Auto Show Stuntin – Maserati debuts Competitive Upgrades at Geneva Motor Show
Maserati dropped the hammer on the 2018 Geneva Motor Show debuting the new Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante Nerissimo Edition
Maserati has given their premium whips a near-complete redesign adding many features that vehicles ½ the price offer standard. But if that makes the high-performing Quattraporte, Gransport, and Levante more appealing to old and new fans then thumbs up. Moreover, the new Nerrissmo package emphasizes their assertive sporting prowess and high-performance capabilities.

Designed for the Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante, and available in GranSport trims, the Nerissimo Edition blacks out the line with a deep black paint job that gives the whips a sinister look. Black chrome trim on the upper part of the grille frame and the Trident, the side air vents, the boot, and the iconic Maserati badging on the C-pillars gives the whip fresh sporty character. The grille bars, door handles, exhaust tips and window trim are in finished in black.
Maserati’s new Ghibli and Quattroporte Nerrismo have a choice of either 20-inch Urano or 21-Titano alloy wheels – both gloss black, and dark LED headlight finishing.

The flagship Quattroporte executive sedan can be finished in either Black Piano or Carbon fiber trims. It’s equipped with tinted windows and a rear-view camera with dynamic gridlines, power trunk, the HomeLink system and Keyless Entry.
The Maserati Levante has only been out two years and has already taken the luxury SUV segment by storm. The 2018 Levante boasts lightweight materials, ideal 50:50 weight distribution and the lowest center of gravity in the segment.

The premium SUV also boasts unparalled agility in the luxury SUV segment, as well as extraordinary comfort on rough terrain and excellent road-holding on low-grip surfaces.
The Levante is available with a choice of 20-inch Nereo, 20-inch Efesto or 21-inch Anteo alloy wheels – all in dark finishes, and offers front and rear underbody protection. An exclusive 21-inch Eracle rim is available in matte grey with diamond trim. Adaptive full LED headlights are another stand-out feature of Levante as are the optional black fog light rings.
The decked-out cabin of the Levante also features heated front and rear Sport seats, four-zone automatic climate control, power foot pedals and the Easy Entry system.
The five-model Maserati range has been overhauled with the most significant updates going to the Ghibli and Levante. In addition, Maserati has made the GranLusso and GranSport trims available on these two whips, which initially was only available with the Quattroporte. The GranLusso, with the Ermenegildo Zegna silk or fine-grain stretched leather interiors is an expression of exclusive, refined luxury. While the GranSport trim adds athletic charisma.
The relatively new Ghibli has quickly become Maserati’s top-selling 4-door vehicle. The 2018 Ghibli has Adaptive full LED Matrix headlights with “Glare Free” technology, developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting. Adaptive full LED headlights is also fitted to the 2018 Quattroporte with standard L-shape “Glare Free” technology.
For some reason, Maserati is especially excited by their new Electric Power Steering (EPS) that is said to improve handling and comfort. EPS governs the new Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include Highway Assist (HAS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Active Blind Spot Assist (ABSA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR). But many of these features are standard on lower priced competitors.
Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC)
The Ghibli and Quattroporte have a powerful 3.0-litre V6 engine. They also make use of the new Integrated Vehicle Controls (IVC) system developed by Bosch in collaboration with Maserati. IVC technology improves driving dynamics as a whole ensuring greater active safety and a more exciting performance.
IVC forms part of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software that brings aerospace technology to the road. It uses an effective feed-forward control system that anticipates driving conditions, then adjusts the braking system and engine. The system operates more regularly and smoothly than the traditional ESP, allowing the car to be better balanced and improving traction in extreme conditions. It also uses smart torque vectoring to optimize lateral dynamics naturally, even when the ESP is disabled.
The Marque of the Trident’s other models will also be present in Geneva in a variety of trims and colors. This includes a Ghibli S Q4 GranLusso Bianco Alpi with 20-inch Urano Diamond wheels, polished aluminum brake calipers, a luxuriously elegant Ermenegildo Zegna silk interior with red leather, 100% natural Mulberry silk inserts and a high-quality Ebony trim.
