Mazda recently unveiled two concept whips at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Kai, an innovative new hatchback, and the Vision Concept, a sleek sporty 2-door.
The Kai Concept is a cool new hatchback that’s sleek and simplified. It blends breakthrough next-generation technology with next generation KODO design language. The front-engine, front-wheel drive hatch has a cool rear wing, and the interior a simplified design based on single driver-centered axis.
The Kai Concept boldy features a Skyactiv-X engine that introduces an innovative combustion method called Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SCCI).
This would be one of the first times a gas engine has utilized a compression ignition.
Mazda’s Vision Coupe Concept utilizes Japanese design language to create a unique expression of elegance.
It features a chiseled frame with a long bonnet, flowing character lines and the cabin flushed to the rear like a fastback.
Both whips illustrate what to expect from the brand’s future designs.
