Audi’s all new RS 3 is dropped this summer with a limited number available in the US. The first compact sedan from the Audi brand features luxury and sporty features – elegantly blended to create a uniquely swift premium whip.
Audi’s RS 3 has very little competition, as it sets itself apart from its compact peers with a stylish exterior design featuring 19 inch wheels with titanium finish, RS sport exhausts with black tips, LED lighting, large front intakes, a cool front aluminum-matte front blade and body color rear spoiler. An optional matte alu-optic exterior adds flair to the Singleframe grille surround along with matte alu-optic mirror housing, front blade and enhanced rear diffuser.
The sporty performance of the compact 2018 Audi RS 3 is next to none. A standard 2.5 liter TFSI 5-cylinder engine is paired to a 7 speed S tronic dual clutch transmission. The lightning-fast compact whip boasts an impressive 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque at 1,700 rpm. The direct and indirect and fuel injection work together using intelligent engine management to optimize distribution. The whip can sprint to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. And the mesmerizing engine note can be adjusted.
Also impressive is the standard quattro all-wheel drive system that features an electrohydraulic multi-plate clutch. And a drive mode select system offers four drive modes – comfort, auto, dynamic and individual, where steering, throttle response and damper control is fine-tuned. Sport mode is optional. Steering is sporty and responsive with RS-programmed electronic stability control with wheel-selective torque control.
Standard stylish ventilated front and rear disc brakes have black 8-piston monoblock calipers. Carbon Ceramic brakes are optional with Anthracite gray calipers and embossed RS logo.
The 2018 Audi RS 3 driver-centered cockpit is fresh with abundant comfort, safety and infotainment tech. Nappa leather seats with contrast diamond stitching is standard and feature the RS logo. Also standard is the dope aluminum race inlays, illuminated door sills with RS logo, and three-spoke flat-bottomed sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. Carbon fiber inlays are also available.
Audi’s virtual cockpit offers a 12.3 inch display that shows a wealth of driving stats. MMI touch is also available with handwriting-recognition technology. And optional MMI navigation features a new menu and search function. Other optional infotainment technology includes Audi connect that shows traffic, weather, fuel, satellite radio, picture navigation, twitter alerts and personalized news headlines. And a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system is available.
New safety technology includes Audi pre sense basic that can prep and protect the vehicle in an impending collision and Audi side assist that uses LEDs on the exterior mirror housings to monitor the whips blind spot.
The 2018 Audi RS 3 is on sale now.
