A sexy little stunner could potentially heat up the compact segment. Unveiled at Auto Shanghai this past spring, the Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan represents a new design direction for a short-bodied 4-door Benz, with sensual lines and 20-inch light alloy wheels.
The Concept A Sedan has coupe-like proportions with short overhangs and slim greenhouse offset towards the rear. Additional features push the boundaries of the compact sedan, like the relatively vertical C pillar, larger side windows and a higher beltline.
A deep Panamericana grille tilted towards the front has vertical chrome inserts and a star in the center. Large air intakes sport a diamond mesh pattern with a stylish dark chrome strip. Striking light architecture also sets this whip ahead of competitors.
The grid structure in the daytime running lights and tail lights have been coated with a UV paint that once exposed to ultraviolet light can glow in different colors.
As a contrast to the paintwork the rear bumper features a diffuser-look lower part trimmed in black and a chrome trim strip that underlines the car’s premium appeal. The integrated exhaust deflectors are finished in dark chrome. The Concept A Sedan also features a panoramic glass roof.
