The Ford Mustang is even more stuntastic with a fresh new design and 10-speed automatic transmission.
The muscle car king adds a ton of new features inside and out to ensure its reign for 2018. A sleeker design hints at the immense refinements to the powertrain and to the cockpit. The 2018 Mustang gains some sophistication and power, plus more is customizable, from the paint jobs (3 new) and a dozen aluminum alloy wheel designs available, to its 12 inch digital instrument cluster.
I’m digging everything about the new Mustang. I especially welcome refinements like Magnetic Ride Suspension, dual-fuel high-pressure injection and low-pressure port fuel injection for the monster V8 GT engine.
The 2018 Mustang features all-LED lighting including headlights, high beams, low beams, turn signals, tail lights and available fog lamps. Also new is the sleeker hood with brawny new vents and muscle lines, and rear bumper with optimal performance spoiler.
The exterior is almost completely redesigned with a slimmer sexier, stealthier look. Also impressive are the powertrain refinements in the new Mustang. The 2.3 liter Ecoboost 4 cylinder engine, replacing the V6, features overboost technology and increased torque.
The 2018 Mustang GT’s 5.0 liter V8 engine boasts increased low-end torque, higher rpm power and improved fuel efficiency. And the new 10-speed automatic transmission with electronic control system and adaptive shift times trounces on the Mustang’s old 6-speed offering quicker shift times and enhanced power. Paddle shifters are more sophisticated with a more intuitive feeling.
The suspension offers new MagneRide with the Performance Package. New shock absorbers and cross axis joints in the rear suspension add resilience and increase lateral stiffness.
The 4-cylinder Ecoboost Mustang has standard dual tip exhausts and the GT has standard quad tip exhausts. An all-new active valve exhaust system is optional on Mustang GT with a fully variable soundtrack to match acceleration range.
