Bentley finally dropped their stunning new Bentayga SUV and it’s already on backorder. Impressive in an understatement for the versatile new Bentayga with sophisticated big-body beauty on the outside and exquisite luxury on the inside.
Touted as the “go anywhere” SUV, the Bentayga boasts off-road tires and customizable first-class suspension to match its resilient aluminum frame. And that’s not the most stuntastic feature. Its powerful W12 engine has 600 horsepower and a top speed of 187 mph, making it the fastest SUV in the world!
The new Bentayga is in a class by itself. Even with its staggering $229k sticker price, the ultra-premium Bentayga shocks the luxury SUV segment.
Slick SUV Style with Opulent Interior
The new Bentayga looks like a GT sitting on 20 inch aluminum wheels. A sexy sleek design with big LED headlights, a stretched out matrix grille and muscle lines along the sides harmoniously blend sport and elegance. A combination of an advanced design, innovative engineering and the use of lightweight aluminum has enabled a 520 lb weight reduction. Aluminum comprises the fenders and roof rails.
For elite customization, seventeen exterior colors are offered. A panoramic glass roof is standard. Twenty-inch wheels are standard with optional 22 inch alloy wheels. Stylish skid plates are also available.
Bentley kills the game with the Bentayga’s cabin design. The interior of the Bentayga is like a mansion on wheels with supple leather and fifteen trim options. Bespoke functionality features six dope lifestyle packages and two styling packs.
The Bentayga SUV cockpit dash takes Bentley’s familiar winged design and drapes it with bull hide, exquisite metal and wood. Hand-selected veneers are offered in seven choices. Seats feature a diamond-quilt design in optional three-tone. The Bentayga offers a two or three-seat configuration for the rear. Drivers have a 22-way power seat and rear passengers have an 18-way with the optional captain’s chairs. The supple leather front seats also feature standard heating and ventilation plus a six-mode massage system. The interior also features a cool new 8 inch touch screen, a 60 gig hard drive, and a 10.2 inch removable tablet.
Bentley gives the Bentayga first-class functionality with features like an available Load-Assist Tray and Wet Gear Stowage option. Mulliner ‘s bespoke options give the Bentayga unique accents, like the high-precision Tourbillon clock by Breitling machined in rose gold or white gold, and a choice of a mother-of-pearl or black ebony face with diamond indexes.
Other Mulliner bespoke options compliment elegance or aid adventure. Mulliner’s Hamper Set includes a refrigerator, Linley china cutlery and crystal glass storage case. As with the optional matching folding event seat that can be stowed and easily removed, sections of the Hamper set can also be removed.
W12 Boasts Unparalled Power and Precision
The style of the Bentayga helps it stand out. And its ultra-powerful drivetrain puts it in a lane by itself. Forget the Cayenne, the new F-Pace and the cool new Maserati Levante. The Bentayga is a mini mansion that also powerful road warrior, off-road capable and efficient.
At the heart of the Bentayga is the all-new 6.0 liter twin-turbo W12 engine that blissfully boasts refined torque distribution, efficiency and unmatched power. It’s the most advanced 12-cylinder engine in the world with a whopping 600 horsepower and 663 lb-ft. of torque! With a top speed of 187 mph, the new Bentayga has a 0-60 sprint on par with its Flying Spur.
The powerful W12 is matched to an 8 speed automatic ZF gearbox. And the transmission and 4WD system has been bolstered to handle the high torque levels of off-road driving. The Bentayga has a Torsen center differential, open rear differential and 40:60 front-rear torque split. Advanced Start Stop technology and lightweight aluminum components help the Bentayga achieve a 20 mpg highway EPA (14 mpg city/ 16 mpg combined.)
Four-link double wishbone front and trapezoid multilink rear suspension with Electronic Power Assist Steering help the Bentayga maintain dynamism and precision on nearly any terrain.
Innovative safety features include Predicative Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Assist. Predicative Adaptive Cruise Control uses camera sensors and GPS data to predict corners ahead and instantaneously adjusts vehicle speed. And the Bentayga has Park Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Top View uses four cameras to create a 360-degree illustration of the SUV. Traffic Sign Recognition can detect and display traffic signs to the driver. And cool new Electronic Night Vision uses infrared technology to identify potential obstacles ahead.
State-of-the-art driver assistance tech enhances safety, comfort and convenience. A Head-up-Display is a welcomed feature in an elite Bentayga SUV. A digital Driver Info Panel shows detailed specs like roll, steering angle, altitude, and compass.
On-road dynamics are customizable with Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode. It, with optional Responsive Off-Road provides up to 8 drive mode settings for on and off-road terrains. Bentley’s Dynamic Ride is the first electric active roll control technology that uses a 48V system.
With the specs and its glorious presentation, I declare the Bentayga a $229k dream-car without driving it. The supreme SUV is on sale now, but I’m told the whip is backordered through 2017.
