The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is a stuntastic 2+2 Concept car fully-electric with autonomous capabilities. The specs are ambitious albeit impressive.
The low-slung long-nosed Maybach 6 is sleek and sexy with a Maybach red paint job and 24 inch wheels. The sedan boasts a big ‘pinstripe’ radiator grille and chrome strips above its wheel arches. The 18 ft long whip has gullwing doors and an aluminum-framed diffuser sits at the rear.
Other cool innovations like the side cameras that replace traditional mirrors and two shallow windows in the rear are elements from previous Vision concepts.
If this Maybach concept’s powertrain- or parts of it make it in to a production model, the next whip could rival the Tesla model line.
With four magnet synchronous electric motor.s, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concepts has an estimated total output of 750 horsepower and a 200 mile drive range.
An innovative quick charge function is said to add 62 miles in just 5 minutes at a public charging station. A shallow underfloor battery has a usable capacity of approx. 80 kwH for a sprint to 62 mph in under 4 seconds.
The yacht-like cabin of the Maybach 6 concept combines traditional Mercedes-Benz mystique with advanced comfort technology. The dashboard curves across the façade creating a 360-degree lounge. High-class leather upholstery is accented with rose gold and wood trim. And the concept car has a floor made of elm wood.
The front luggage area of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 houses a set of two suitcases exclusively created for the premium sedan.
Other innovative features could enhance future production models. Body sensor in the seats will monitor the occupants’ vital functions to adjust seat climate and the massage function. The sensors also record useless passenger info like the color of their clothes and the incidence of light.
While the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concept is a dope-ass whip, it’s like the Kim Kardashian of super cars – pretty face with a big caboose, but some parts can be real. Yet I’m still drooling.
