Lamborghini dropped a SERIOUS 1-off whip at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Only 20 coupes and 20 roadsters will be sold for 1.75 million euros – this summer.
“The Centenario is a car that perfectly combines tradition and innovation. It looks to the future while honoring the legend that is Ferruccio Lamborghini,” says Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “The Centenario is an opportunity for our designers and engineers to transcend some of the constraints of series car production to achieve an incomparable result: the Centenario has immediately proved itself as a desirable collectors’ car, while demonstrating new Lamborghini technologies and outstanding performance.”
Lamborghini pulls out all the stops with this limited edition. The sexy super whip is low slung, sleek, and stealth, with an arrow-sharp silhouette and dope irregular wheel arches. The Centenario is 4.9 meters long and 1.43 meters high and weighs just 1,520 kg!
Aerodynamic inlets made of several fins characterized both front and rear. Large air scoops in the front bonnet aid downforce. Dopeness is the carbon fiber and glass engine cover and 20 inch/21 inch forged and milled aluminum wheels with Pirelli PZero tyres. The fan-shaped spokes, accented in carbon fiber, cover ducts extracting hot air from the carbon ceramic brakes.
The cool integrated rear diffuser optimizes airflow and maximizes downforce. Dope are the trapezoidal headlamps and Y shaped tail lamps and the matte carbon fiber front spitter, side skirts, wheel arches, and rear diffuser.
The Centenario is built with a carbon fiber monocoque with gloss carbon fiber body and carbon fiber trim. The whip has a mind-boggling weight to power ratio of 1.97 kg/ horsepower and a torsial stiffness of 35.000 Nm per degree. The whip has an insane powertrain thanks to its ultra-lightweight body and major design perks on the outside. And an extendable rear wing extends 150 mm and rotates up to 15 degrees for optimal performance.
The 1-off Centenario’s naturally aspirated V12 engine is the most powerful ever built by Lamborghini. It has 770 horsepower and a top speed of 350 km/hr. And the Centenario can reach 62 mph in 2.8 freakin seconds! The V12 is matched to Lamborghini’s Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) gearbox, lightweight with lightning-fast gearshifts.
The four-wheel drive Cenentario boasts a rear-wheel drive steering system for increased responsiveness, stability, and road prowess. With each drive mode, Strada, Sport, and Corsa, the rear-wheel drive steering heightens each.
The Centenario is fitted with Lamborghini’s magneto rheological suspension and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), especially tuned for the Centenario’s rear-wheel steering and providing optimal responsiveness and driver feedback.
The interior of the Lamborghini features carbon fiber sports seats with contrast stitching on the dash steering wheels and rocker covers. The inner door panels are made with carbon fiber and Alcantara. And the Centenario has a 10.1 inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, and availability to capture performance stats.
“It is the most fitting tribute to Ferruccio Lamborghini in his centenary year”, says Winkelmann: “[He is] a man who created an exceptional brand, believed that anything was possible, and produced extraordinary, iconic cars.”
This whip is sooo0 dope. It’s almost more unbelievable because only 40 of this exclusive whip will go out for orders this fall.
