The Ford F-150 improves on its successful record with new technology inside and out, and an efficient new 3.5 liter V6 engine. The 2016 Ford F-150 also adds some style with a new satin chrome grille and tailgate, 22-inch wheels and quad beam LED headlights.
For 2016, the pickup offers a base model range XLT and a new F-150 Limited series that includes exclusive interior appointments and exterior chrome accents.
The 2016 Ford F-150 Limited stands out with exclusive 22-inch polished aluminum wheels and raised dimensional Limited lettering on the hood, a satin finished chrome badges on the tailgate, and satin chrome door handles and chrome exhaust tips. The chrome front bumper has body color and end caps while the rear has body color and bright belt molding. The 2016 Ford F-150 also has cool new colors available like Magnetic, Blue Jeans, and Shadow Black.
“The F-150 Limited sets a new bar for what discerning customers should expect in a high end truck,” said Raj Nair, Ford Group vice president, Global Product Development.
The F-150 adds new technology, enhanced productivity, convenience, and capability with exclusive style. The 2016 F-150 has a 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 with a max tow capacity of 10,000 lbs. The behemoth is pretty stealthy with 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.
The engine is paired with an electronic six-speed automatic transmission. The powerful transmission features SelectShift with Progressive Range Select. Tow/haul has increased productivity thanks to Pro Trailer Backup Assist. This technology allows for customers to steer a trailer instinctively by turning a knob. It makes it easier to back up with a trailer or a large load by optimizing steering and limiting vehicle speed.
Four-wheel drive models are equipped with a two speed automatic four-drive that shifts between two-wheel and four-wheel drive. This helps maintain control in all driving conditions and aids and EPA of 20 mpg combined (17 mpg city / 24 mpg highway).
The F-150 also has remote start and tailgate lift. A sport mode should add more controlled steering, increased stopping power, and more agile handling.
Safety tech includes a new 360 degree camera system, Dynamic Trailer Hitch Assist, Lane Keeping System, Blind Spot Information System, and Cross Traffic Alert.
Ford makes the bold claim that the interior of the F-150 is better than the King Ranch Toyota Tundra and the swagged out Lariat.
A panoramic vista roof and deployable running boards are standard. The interior has 10-way heated and cooled black and Mohave leather front seats with a massage function. Heated rear seats are also included.
The interior of the F-150 Limited has unique floor mats with a new instrument cluster and a laser-engraved VIN plate on the center console lid including production number. Scuff plates have ice blue lights. Synch 3 features a Sony 10-Speaker Sound System with HD radio, a subwoofer, and SiriusXM Radio and Traffic, and TravelLink.
