The 2015 Panoz 25th Anniversary Edition Esperante Spyder is on display at Monterey Car Week. Panoz will produce only 25 Esperante Spyder and Spyder GT sports cars to commemorate the company’s sports cars of the past 25 years.

Panoz was the first U.S. auto manufacturer to use super formed aluminum panels for its bodies when it created the 1992 Panoz Roadster. In 1996 it added an aluminum chassis and an all- aluminum modular V8 engine to create the Panoz AIV Roadster, which became Americas first Aluminum Intensive Vehicle (AIV).

The Esperante Spyder is essentially new, from engine and transmission and suspension and brake systems to the luxurious interior and functional carbon fiber cockpit structure. Key new features include the two-seat configuration with its visually dynamic carbon fiber, and a new, shorter windshield reinforced by tubular steel A-pillars and an all-new carbon fiber windshield frame. The 2015 Esperante Spyder has lightweight SPF (Superplastic Forming) that helps the Spyder weighs just 3,128 pounds.

The luxurious full leather interior offers more room than the previous generation Esperante models. Customers can add a range of interior options such as wood or metal trim and Alcantara accents on the seats, dash, door panels, center console, and as inserts on the Spyders carbon fiber Spyder shell. Clear-coated carbon fiber door sills and a range of optional trim, including wood, carbon fiber are also available.

The Esperante Spyder’s interior also features an all-new leather dash with an electronic gauge cluster. The 10.6-inch ID4Motion digital instrument display has a digital speedometer, coolant temp gauge, tachometer, oil pressure gauge, charging meter, fuel gauge, and odometer.  The display also has two skins allowing the driver to choose between traditional black background graphics or a light brushed aluminum/silver background.

The Esparante Spyder goes from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 172 mph. Powertrain packages include a 430 horsepower naturally aspirated engine to 560 supercharged horsepower engine and are all mated to a TremecT56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is available. The 25th Anniversary Edition Esperante Spyder has an MSRP $179,120 and the Spyder GT an MSRP of $204,750.
