Rolls-Royce debuts one of its most awe inspiring limited editions to date, the Phantom Drophead Coupe. The ultra exclusive Phantom Drophead will only have 35 companions produced as part of Rolls-Royce’s Waterspeed collection, a commemorative collection of ultra luxurious whips that echo the design of the Bluebird K3 hydroplane boat. The Bluebird K3 was the boat used by Malcolm Campbell to break the world waterspeed record twice in 1937. “The power of nature and the power of man lie at the heart of Roll-Royce’s inspiration for Waterspeed.” From the powerful V12 engine to the Maggiore blue and Windchill grey color scheme with brushed aluminum accents, the Phantom Drophead is a Bespoke beauty with yacht like character.

The Brits hold Sir Malcolm Campbell as their legend in watersports, as many will regard the Drophead Coupe in luxury automobiles. Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke department hand-made a new rendition of Phantom’s top notch convertible style with the finest materials and contemporary flair.

Breathtaking Exterior Design

The Phantom is already a one of the most spectacular supreme luxury vehicles on the road. The special edition Drophead Coupe is a beautiful Maggiore blue with brushed steel complimenting the grille, bonnet, rear deck, and surrounding the cabin. And Rolls-Royce adds contemporary swag with a perfectly contrasting grey and blue leather interior that’s also accented with brushed steel, aluminum, and blue piping.

The Waterspeed Phantom Drophead Coupe combines ultra luxury with premium elegance and supreme capabilities. The design of the exterior is yacht-like with its long bonnet and the grin created by long lines along its flanks. The swagged out coupe is made with a hand welded aluminum space frame that makes it rigid, agile, and resilient. The lower, more rigid Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe is a marvel for cruising and an exhilarating ride at high speeds.

Supreme Craftmanship for Unparalled Performance

The new Waterspeed Drophead Coupe has a 6.7 liter V12 engine with 459 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. The direct injected 48-valve engine has a top speed of 149 mph and goes from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. That’s one high-speed yacht!

The V12 is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. The stunning powertrain with cutting edge craftsmanship make the Phantom Drophead a beast on the road. The lighter aluminum frame compliments more precise dampers and self leveling struts to add tranquility to the performance in any road condition. The Drophead Coupe could go head to head with the Bentley Continental.

Interior Style & Elegance

The interior of the Waterspeed Phantom Coupe echoes the breathtaking Bespoke exterior design. The soft top roof is insulated with five layers and lined with a cashmere blend. Maggiore blue leather accented with Windchill grey and brush aluminum accents evoke a cool tranquil ocean feeling perfect for the Waterspeed collection.

Blue and grey leather is swagged out with cool aqua blue piping on the seats, dash, and the doors. Aluminum covers the dashboard fascia, armrest, and the center console. Abachi wood accents on the dash make the interior especially yacht like. Even the Bluebird logo was reimagined and engraved on the armrest and throughout the interior and exterior. Maggiore blue also covers the power reserve gauge. And the swanky two-tone steering wheel adds elegance and flair. Even the floor mats were given an extra degree of elegance, available in saddle leather or metal.
