After a popular concept debut at the 2012 Beijing International Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition hits North American streets. Jeep adds special edition design cues for the Dragon model like a matte black on a black paint job with bronze satin gloss trim inside the front grille slats.
The Dragon decal runs from the hood to the driver’s side. And another covers the back spare tire. The Wrangler Dragon has a slick black 3 piece hard top, black 18” alloy wheels, and the black Mopar fuel filler with black spare tire cover.
The matte black on black is echoed in the interior with black Nappa leather seats, high gloss black instrument panel, bezels, and door handles. Satin bronze accents the steering wheel spokes and passenger dashboard grab handle. On the gauge cluster is another dragon overlay. And the satin bronze dragon decorates the center console arm rest. Also available is a 6.5 inch touch screen for infotainment.
The Wrangler Dragon has a 3.6 liter Pentaster V6 engine with 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Wrangler Dragon also comes equipped with Jeep’s advanced 4-wheel-drive off road features. Off road features include low end torque, an angle performing oil sump, and an alternator that sits higher up. In addition to great off-road performance, the Wrangler Dragon has a standard 5-speed automatic transmission, along with an optional 6-speed manual transmission.
