Acura plans to wow supercar fans in 2015 with its NSX sports car. Acura has been pubbing the NSX and its past renderings for a year already, and it won’t go on sale until 2015. What’s so cool about the NSX…it accomplishes nearly everything a supercar should and everything we could hope for new and improved from Acura. Of all the car brands, Acura designs are the most nostalgic. It’s said that the 2014 NSX aims to target next generation supercar capabilities with advanced environmental performance. Bienvenido a 2005 Acura!
What the Acura NSX gets right
I’m already licking my chops at the sexy $110,000 whip. With its low stout muscular body and super sport grille and air vents the NSX looks like an R8 and a Lambo had a baby. On the outside, the NSX is composed of carbon fiber, chrome, LED and other weight reducing-speed enhancing materials. The body, suspension and engine are aluminum.
On the inside, the Acura NSX is a sultry marriage of burgundy leather and suede, wood grain, carbon fiber, and chrome accents. The interior also has a digital dash and touch screen with remote touch for infotainment.
Most impressive is the new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD. Acura’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD mates the V6 engine with its 3-motor hybrid system. 3 standard electric motors work together for torque vectoring all-wheel-drive. Rear wheels are powered by a V6 engine with dual-clutch transmission. Two electric motors power the front wheels. They work together for an exhilarating ride delivering torque to the front wheels at sharp turns. Reminds me of the LaFerrari and the Lexus LF-LC concept. But the sticker price of the 2014 Acura NSX is more in the range of the Porsche 911.
