Acura returns to the lux sedan market with 8 affordable whips with sporty flair. Ranging from 36k to 45k, the 8 TL models offer a special edition, all-wheel-drive, and three optional packages.
The TL models aim to fill the void left by the limited edition RL 3.5 of the late 90’s with performance handling and entertainment and luxury features. The front-wheel-drive TL starting at $36,000 comes with a 3.5 liter V6 engine with 280 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque. The sleek agile TL comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.
Four sportier TL models feature SH-AWD – Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive with an available Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic transmission. The SH-AWD TL is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 with 305 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The SH-AWD also features torque vectoring that sends more torque to the rear wheels when cornering.
The TL retains much of its sleek sporty stance and now has a stainless steel body, HID headlights, LED taillights, and a power moonroof. Also standard is the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, 8-speaker audio system with 6-disc changer, Bluetooth, USB ports, and wireless telephone via Handsfree Link.
